About Wire Transfers:
----------------
Each year, when it is time to renew ILA memberships or to register for the annual Convention and Technical Symposium, we are faced with problems relating to "wire transfers."  We understand that this form of money transfer is fast and convenient for some members or registrants, and we do not want to reduce that convenience.

However: It happens that wire transfers arrive at the ILA with very little data on where or from whom they came.  This seems strange, but we have been unable to obtain detail from the bank. When several wire transfers arrive for the same amount (as in renewals or convention payment), it is impossible to know who paid and who did not.

Therefore, we ask that each member contemplating a wire transfer do the following before executing the wire transfer:

- Think about doing the transaction by credit card if possible

- If you must use wire transfer, send us e-mail or fax or ordinary mail to give the details of the transaction (who, what when, where-from, how-much).

While still not perfect, this will help us to be sure you are credited with the proper payment.

Thank you for your help!
